They Called Her Kiki Valentine
Kristine Corin Rakowsky

Over time, Kiki Valentine became more than a nickname. It became the name through which much of my public work came to be known.

I combine anthropology with documentary storytelling, photography, writing, public scholarship, and community advocacy to explore how institutions shape human experience during moments of crisis, loss, and change.

My work focuses on housing, public health, justice, and the systems that connect — or disconnect — people from care, dignity, and one another.
